Every now and then you see a new technology take the developer world by storm, Git recently has exploded in it’s adoption. There are a couple of interesting things to note about the widespread, fast switch to Git.
- Blogs spread new tech meme’s faster than ever before, and thus new technology doesn’t take as long to break through like it did 5 years ago. Rails is evidence of this as well. Rails was a blogging phenomenon as well as a web framework phenemenon.
- Git provides evidence that thigns we thought were staid and not prone to change can be really improved dramatically. Source code control was something I assumed wouldn’t change much, I mean how much better can it get? Well apparently, a lot better.
